Static relays, or solid state relays (SSR) are non-contact semiconductor switches made from solid state electrical elements to complete switching on and off functions without any contact, spark, or noise. Operating with the same functions as electromechanical relays, static relays also provide logic circuit compatibility, vibration resistance, and mechanical shock resistance as well as unlimited switching positions, high operating frequency, and good resistance to moisture, mildew, corrosion, and ozone pollution. These devices are widely used in automatic control fields like aerospace, maritime, household appliance, communications, and many other applications.
