Time Switches
Different timer types are largely identical but feature minor functional differences.
1. Digital time switch
- The digital timer is typically a weekly timer with 16 sets of switches in the one-week cycle.
- For example, the timer can switch the equipment on at 8 a.m. on Monday and off at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
- It can also be set as a day timer that can switch the equipment on and off at the same time (e.g. on at 8 a.m. and off at 4 p.m.) every day.
- Wiring method: the wiring method depends on specific products, though terminal wiring is the most common.
2. Mechanical time switch
- The mechanical timer is a timing mechanism usually used for a daily cycle. It is simpler to operate and more intuitive than the electronic timer.
- Mechanical timers are most often set by turning a dial to the time interval desired, and dialing in means switching on the mechanism, while dialing out stands for switching off the mechanism.
- Wiring method: the wiring method depends on specific products, though terminal wiring is the most common.
